One big hurricane trumps small earthquakes

As I was going to sleep last night there was another tremor. It shook the place for a while. Ho hum.

On the other hand, the monster storm bearing down on the East Coast might prove interesting.

My mum was supposed to leave Washington D.C. late on Saturday morning, but I understand the outer edges of the storm might have shut the area airports by then. Some places closer to the coast are already under a mandatory evacuation order. We needed to work around that…

Tonight was busy:
1. Company meeting after work
2. Finance Committee meeting to set the budget
3. Get home and spend hours rearranging the flights and accommodation for my mum and her beau. Now she will fly out late Friday afternoon.

Between 1 and 2, we had to throw in a traffic delay because of fallen trees on GW Parkway.

It’s 2am and I’m done. Yikes! Will I ever catch up on sleep??

And will our blogger friends near NYC get hit far worse than me? I suspect so… I hope you’ll be OK…

Does it mean that your mum is staying with you for longer?

  3. Yeah, it’s better quite a week in the area, hasn’t it? We’re pretty much ready here, just have to pick up some groceries. Hoping the stores won’t be too busy at this point…
